Damon revealed in an interview that he was paid around $35,000 extra, courtesy of his classic M.I.T. janitor character in the movie.

Overall, the movie grossed $225.9 million on a $10 million budget and won two Oscars. Damon, who is ranked among Forbes’ most bankable stars and Affleck won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Apart from this, it also won Best Supporting Actor for Robin Williams. And guess what? Affleck and Damon split just $600 to write this classic of the decade!
