“I am supposed to be SMART. I don’t need to be muscly”: Two and a Half Men Star Melanie Lynskey Defends Her Goddess Figure as Kathleen in ‘The Last of Us’
When it comes to acting, having a body that matches the character and its circumstances is important. In the same line of thought Adrianne Curry criticized Melanie Lynskey recently for not looking like her character does in the video game in the HBO series, The Last of Us. The model pointed out that the actor’s body did not fit the world she is supposed to be living in the story. Although the tweet has since been deleted by Curry, Lynskey did not fail to respond and explain the pictures. She came to her defense by explaining why her character appeared the way she did. Amid all this, her fans have showered her with love and supported her clap back at Curry.
Melanie Lynskey’s Clap Back at Adrianne Curry’s Comment About Her Body
Recently, Adrianne Curry had to say something about Melanie Lysnkey’s body in the HBO series The Last of Us. As the story revolves around a post-apocalyptic world, therefore a certain look is expected of characters in the story. However, Lynskey’s appearance seemed to not have sat right with the model as she took to Twitter to criticize. Along with a picture of the Candy actor, Curry tweeted that Lynskey’s body said, “life of luxury and not post-apocalyptic warlord”. Not only that, the model even mentioned Linda Hamilton while suggesting the Terminator star fit the role better.
Soon after this, Lynskey responded and slammed the model for her criticism. The Yellowjack actor first explained a bit about her role. And then defended her body by saying,
“I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for.”
The actor’s fans also joined in with criticisms against Curry. And the tweet is since been deleted. However, after all the backlash, the model did double down on her previous tweet. According to her, her remark had not been against Lynskey but against her character in the series. And added that the actor was not her “Character”. Therefore it was not actually meant to be offensive against the actor. She wrote,
“actors can’t allow people to not like their characters? I am DONE”
Furthermore, there were more follow-up tweets from the Yellowjack actor defending herself against the criticism by Curry. Undoubtedly she received much love from her fans.
