“I can assure you it’s not for money”: ‘The Last of Us’ Creator Has Upsetting News For Pedro Pascal’s Fans Who Are Desperately Waiting For the Sequel
The world of TV series is impressively huge and filled with longing and anticipation. The excitement around The Last of Us deepens as fans wait impatiently for another chapter of this legendary story. The news given by the show’s creator has a painful sting, and Pedro Pascal’s depiction further heightens the anticipation.
This video game series was developed by Naughty Dog, and Pedro Pascal’s involvement in the TV adaptation was a massive hit, especially for the fans who were familiar with the game already, but this recent update is quite not interesting and was unexpected as viewers were highly curious about the next season.

Fans of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 1 starring Pedro Pascal are eagerly awaiting the second season, but a fresh report has possibly depressing information about when it will air. Excitement was increased by the announcement of a second season based on the critically successful video game sequel The Last of Us Part II. But Craig Mazin, the creator of The Last of Us, spoke with Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast on the status of Season 2 of the program in light of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In his interview, Mazin said that he and the rest of the cast are eager to get started and that they aren’t producing this program for financial gain:
“We are all raring to go. This is what we are born to do. This is how we not only choose to live our lives, but I believe [how we] are compelled to live our lives. Otherwise, why the hell would we do this insane job? I can assure you it’s not for money.”
Early 2024 was the target start date for Season 2 of Mazin and HBO. Fans can anticipate that the release date for the upcoming installment will be pushed back from the intended release window of early spring 2025 to the second half of the year at the earliest, possibly in fall 2025, as it is impossible to predict how long the strikes will last and how much production will be delayed.

The world of The Last of Us is one in which a parasitic fungus that has evolved to transfer hosts from ants to people is the cause of humanity’s extinction, not a flu-like virus. The post-apocalyptic setting of the program follows Joel, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, a Texan construction worker, and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, a 14-year-old girl, as they travel through a devastated US. The story develops over the course of three different time periods: the fictional fungal scenario is introduced in the 1960s, the breakdown of civilization is shown in 2003, and the grim aftermath is revealed in 2023 under an authoritarian rule.
The Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin television version of the well-known computer game conveys the unfiltered feelings, terrifying obstacles, and meaningful relationships of its inspiration. Despite being violent and depressing, it finds moments of tenderness among the rubble, especially in the relationship between Joel and Ellie. By exploring the lives of other individuals like survivalist Bill played by Nick Offerman and artist Frank played by Murray Bartlett, the series distinguishably goes beyond them and creates moments of beauty and depth.
