The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is an eminent artist famously known for his roles in movies and TV series such as Hannibal, Another Round, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and many more. He has been dubbed the “face of the resurgent Danish cinema” by The New York Times.

Despite being one of the biggest names in Hollywood, his time in the MCU was rather short as Kaecilius in 2016’s Doctor Strange. Although he has not made an appearance in the MCU since then, fans have been dying to see him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again, as evident by fan casting.

Recently, a rumor has been flying around that Mads Mikkelsen might make a comeback to the MCU in a role other than Kaecilius. If sources are to be believed, he is possibly in the running for playing Dr Doom in Marvel.

Mads Mikkelsen is all set to make a comeback in the MCU

Mads Mikkelsen is an actor of great caliber. His suave charm makes him a perfect candidate to play a cold-hearted villain with irresistible appeal, like his character from Hannibal or Fantastic Beasts. He first appeared in the MCU in 2016’s Doctor Strange as the former Master of the Mystic Arts member, Kaecilius.

While he did a great job, the audience was far from satisfied and wanted him in a much more considerable role. He also briefly made an appearance in Loki season 1 but in archival audio form.

Recently, a trusted Marvel insider, Daniel Richtman, gave a scoop that Mads Mikkelsen is being considered for a potentially big role in the MCU. The role is supposed to be distinct from his previous portrayal as Kaecilius. Many have already started playing the guessing game as to what role he might be playing, and the top hypothesis of most fans is that he is in the running to play Dr Doom.

Marvel’s big plans surrounding Jonathan Majors’s Kang The Conqueror are all scrapped due to his being dropped from Marvel for assault allegations. Kang The Conqueror was supposed to be the next big villain in the MCU after Thanos in the Multiverse saga.

However, with those plans out of the equation, Marvel needs a contingency plan soon to establish a major villain before Avengers: Secret Wars. It is being speculated that Mads Mikkelson will be put up to the task.

Mikkelson previously auditioned for the role of Victor von Doom in 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four. Recently, another trusted industry scooper, John Campea, revealed via One Take News that Mads Mikkelsen is being considered to play Dr Doom again.

“Now, to be clear, I’m sure they talked to a dozen people. They did not tell me that Mads Mikkelsen has been cast as Doom. Not at all. But they were able to confirm to me that Mads Mikkelsen is one of the people they talked to for Doom.”

However, it is still all speculation so far, and nothing has been confirmed yet as to which character Richtman’s intel was referring to.
