When Seacrest mentioned this to Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan, she allegedly took Cohen’s side and that has created a rift between the two co-hosts. The TV star is very open with her fans about her lifestyle and habits. According to sources, it was reported that she lives a very healthy lifestyle and does not even smoke or drink.
Kelly Ripa gave up drinking 5 years ago
While talking in an interview, Kelly Ripa revealed how she quit drinking half a decade ago. She narrated the story that back in 2017 she decided to try to be sober for a month. She succeeded at it and has never tried any type of alcohol since then. Ripa said, “I did a sober month – all my girlfriends did it, we all did it together – and I just never went back to it. It wasn’t even really a thought process.” She further explained that she was never a heavy drinker anyways. She said, “I wasn’t someone who got drunk – but even like two glasses of wine at a girl’s night out dinner; I would feel it the next morning.” The TV star further explained that she had any type of urge to drink again after that.

Back in 2020, on her show Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ripa talked about her quitting drinking in 2017. Ryan Seacrest jumped on this opportunity and jokingly said, “I started the show and she quit drinking. What does that tell you?” and they laughed it off together. In a recent interview with People, Ripa mentioned her co-host again and said he still lauds himself as the reason for her quitting drinking.
Kelly Ripa is a woman of commitment and sheer will. In the same interview, she even mentioned that she quit smoking almost 25 years ago. She explained that quitting smoking was a bit harder than quitting drinking. She said, “Quitting tobacco I really had to think about, but drinking was very easy. I didn’t really think about it at all.” Ripa also mentioned how people actually questioned her as to why she was quitting drinking but no one asked her anything when she decided to quit smoking.
