Actor Johnny Depp, who follows roughly 160 people on Instagram, recently followed American actress Brooke Shields after she talked about a traumatic experience that she faced as a young actress in Hollywood. She revealed that she was r*ped by a man in a new documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, which premiered during the Sundance film festival.

The actress also highlighted the intense sexualization she experienced as a young girl, including a n*de photoshoot when she was just 10, and her appearance as a child prostitute in the film Pretty Baby when she was just 11.

The actress talked about the incident

The actress didn’t reveal the identity of the attacker in the documentary but revealed that she already knew the man and met her shortly after graduating from college. The man reportedly wanted to cast her in a new movie and took her back to his hotel. He then said he would call her a taxi but came back naked from the bathroom and assaulted her. The actress recalled,

“It was like wrestling… I was afraid I could get choked out or something. I didn’t fight that much. I didn’t. I just absolutely froze. I thought that my one ‘no’ should have been enough. And I just thought ‘stay alive and get out.'”

She then said that she called one of her friends after the incident who told her, “That’s r*pe.” She then said, “I’m not willing to believe that.” This is the first time the actress has talked about the shocking incident.

Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields premiered at the Sundance film festival

The two-part documentary, Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, premiered on day two of the Sundance film festival. It earned Shields a standing ovation at its premiere. The documentary covers her struggles as a star and how she went back to college after becoming famous.

It also highlighted the media’s obsession with her virginity, her mother’s alcoholism, and her first marriage to tennis star Andre Agassi. On top of that, she talked about her experience of getting sexualized at a young age.
