Courteney Cox on aging
It is not a secret anymore, that actress Courteney Cox will soon be turning 60. She is currently 58, and it has been very difficult for her to wrap her head around that fact. The actress said,
“Oh God, it’s so hard to even hear or say. I can’t believe it,”
But she is currently more zen than she used to be. Cox admitted in the interview with The Sunday Times that she turned “crazy” in fear of aging. The monumental success of the show FRIENDS pushed her limits further. She said,
“There’s nothing wrong with being 60, I just can’t believe it,–Time goes so fast. There’s no question that I am more grounded, I’ve learned so much in my life — what to enjoy, what to try to do more of, and what to let go of.”
She now regrets being the harshest critic of herself,
“I don’t know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself,”
But she is also glad that she finally realized it,
“People would talk about me, I think. But there was a period where I went, ‘I’ve got to stop. That’s just crazy.’ ”
Therefore, Cox is now embracing her age and focusing on living life more peacefully.
Courteney Cox on cosmetic surgeries
The Scream actress is now embracing aging and realizing cosmetic surgeries can only save a person for so long. The people surrounding the industry never state the dangers of it. And once one gets “some work done”, the eye of their mind picks apart another feature to “correct”. It is a vicious cycle. She said,
“What would end up happening is you go to a doctor who says, ‘You look great, but what would help is a little injection here or a filler there.’ Then you come out and you don’t look so bad and you think, ‘No one noticed, it’s good’.”
Cox further added,
“Then someone tells you about another doctor: ‘This person is amazing. They make this person look so natural’. You meet them and they say, ‘You should do this’. Next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered.”
She shared her realization in the interview stating,
“There was a time when you go, ‘Oh, I’m changing. I’m looking older.’ And I tried to chase that (youthfulness) for years–And I didn’t realize that … I’m actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.”
Courteney Cox also shared her thoughts with New Beauty Magazine,
“I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend.”
The actress is now grateful for whatever she has and is living life to the fullest.
