As per Robbie’s The Guardian interview (2018), the film crew had somehow gotten so close to each other while working that they had all decided to stay together in one place. This gave the couple more time to connect as friends first and which eventually blossomed into a romance between the two.
Ackerley had been working as a third assistant for the movie’s director. And after they started their romance, it did not take much time for the couple to tie the knot which took place in 2016.
