According to a trivia on the reputed rating platform IMDb, Quentin Tarantino had to take the responsibility of acting in his own hands.

In a scene where Bridget von Hammersmark played by Diane Kruger was supposed to be choked to death by Christopher Waltz’s Hans Landa, whereas she was choked by the filmmaker himself for the perfect shot. The trivia mentioned-

“What I said to her was, I’m gonna just strangle you, alright? Full on, I’m gonna cut off your air, for just a little bit of time. We’re gonna see the reaction in your face and I’m gonna yell cut.”

During an interview with the media outlet Parade, actor Diane Kruger spoke about the much-hyped scene. The actor said-

“I get strangled, which was especially weird because you feel it when someone is choking you, so it was an interesting day at the office. The funny part is that Quentin’s hands are in the close-up.”

This wasn’t the first time when filmmaker Quentin Tarantino had taken matters into his own hands. During an interview with the media outlet Deadline, he confessed about doing a scene with Uma Thurman in Kill Bill in order to get that one perfect shot.

Quentin Tarantino On Writing The Most Memorable Character For Adam Sandler

Not many people know that one of the most important characters was written for actor Adam Sandler in the critically acclaimed movie Inglorious Basterds. During an interview with the reputed podcast Bill Maher’s Club Random, the Django Unchained director revealed that the character of Sgt. Donny “The Bear Jew” Donowitz was written for Adam Sandler. Judd Apatow was also a guest on the podcast. He went on to say-

“I feel bad because when I did Funny People with Sandler, I wasn’t aware that that was the exact time you were trying to use him for Inglorious Basterds,”

Quentin Tarantino even added-

“Obviously, he should’ve done yours because of the whole thing of it. I mean, you start with the f—ing video cassette of you guys as kids. But yeah, the Bear Jew was going to… I wrote the Bear Jew for Adam Sandler. When I was doing Little Nicky, he’s telling me like, ‘Oh man, I get to f—ing beat up Nazis with a bat? F—ing script! F—ing awesome! I can’t f—ing wait! I can’t f—ing wait!’ He was like telling every Jewish guy, ‘I’m going to f—ing play this guy who beats up Nazis with a f—ing bat.’”

However, the role was played by actor Eli Ropth in Inglorious Basterds. The movie was made on a budget of $70 and went on to make a profit of $321.5 million. The wartime drama had secured multiple nominations and awards.
