In Extreme Ways to Play His Marvel Role Jared Leto Acted as a Cripple Even Off Set, Was Wheeled to the Toilet by Staff
In the acting world, there are tons of techniques that actors make use of while carrying out scenes. One of the most popular is the technique called “method acting” which requires an actor to completely immerse themselves into the character they are portraying.
There have been cases where some have gone to extreme lengths with the technique. One such Hollywood star is Jared Leto.
His most famous on-set incident is the during the filming of Suicide Squad. However, there are other equally shocking instances of Leto taking his method of acting too seriously to an extreme.
Jared Leto’s Morbius Method Acting Incident
There seems to be no holding back Jared when it comes to the slew of his weird incidents on film sets. The 50-year-old actor is known for his extreme method acting antics which he sometimes even pulls on his co-stars like the one where he sent a live rat to Margot Robbie during their time in Suicide Squad.
Although he denied ever carrying out such action. His role as Joker had been that of a psychotic villain and a lover of Robbie’s character Harley Quinn. Nevertheless, there are just too many instances of the actor taking his method- acting seriously.
Another weird method acting story comes from the set of the 2022 Marvel film Morbius. As the actor played the role of a wheelchaired biochemist suffering from a rare blood disease, Leto remained in his wheelchair even while he was not filming. As per Uproxx, the film director Daniel Espinosa revealed how far the Suicide Squad star took his method of acting.

According to him, Leto had to be assisted to the washroom as he remained in his character of a disabled person in a wheelchair. Furthermore, he added,
“Even though he’s alive and strong, it has to be a difference. Hey, man, it’s people’s processes.”
But there is no further information as to how far this went, regardless of it is a shocking fact for people.

More on Jared Leto and His Method Acting Saga
Apart from acting like his character even while not filming, Jared Leto also transforms physically to fully take on the aspects of his character. One instance is when he dropped 25 pounds to okay the role of a drug addict in Requiem For A Dream. Moreover, he even abstained from s*x to fully immerse himself in the role.
And another instance was for his 2007 film Chapter 27 in which he played the role of David Chapman and for which Leto was out on 79 pounds to fit the role.
