A Brief Note on Kanye West’s Recent Controversy
The rapper-turned-fashion designer initially drew attention by wearing a T-shirt with the slogan White Lives Matter written over it, in his surprise Yeezy Paris show.
While he was criticized for that event, he took things to the next level by sharing anti-semitic remarks on social media and in interviews. That turned the tables as he faced major backlash over his remarks.
In a now-deleted tweet, the rapper posted a few weeks ago, he wrote, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE” which majorly hurt the sentiments of the Jewish community.
Due to that, he was not only slammed by his fellow celebrities including his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, but the major brand deals and big collaborations such as Balenciaga, Gap, and Vogue also ended their ties with him.
