His words have a tinge of criticism which hasn’t gone well with the fans and hence he himself is being lambasted.
I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]… I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.
It has to be noted that this statement comes from the Happy singer Taylor Swift endorsed Presidential candidate Kamala Harris with an Instagram post. Fans haven’t objected to Williams’ decision of not being interested in politics. However, fans are criticizing him for his opinion regarding others’ choices.
Many of the X users have agreed on the common point that Williams has no right to criticize other celebrities for their interest in politics as it is everyone’s personal choice. Some have even expressed their doubts that this might have something to do with Swift’s post.
Donald Trump Found It Difficult To Digest Taylor Swift’s Endorsement Of Kamala Harris
In an Instagram post, Taylor Swift showed her support for Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election. The Fortnight singer endorsed Harris stating various reasons behind it, including the latter being a steady-handed and gifted leader. She wrote:
As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.
Swift expressed her belief in Harris and claimed that the country can achieve a lot when handled with calmness, and not chaos. However, her endorsement of Harris didn’t go well with Donald Trump. The former president and Republican nominee expressed his dissatisfaction with Swift’s endorsement and said that he hates her on his Truth Social.
Although Trump has claimed that he hates Swift, he is also the one who coveted her endorsement. In fact, he had posted AI images on Truth Social account suggesting that the singer had endorsed him in August. Not to mention his incessant appreciation (via Variety) of the singer’s beauty earlier this year.
