The Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel revolves around the story of Kamala Khan, played by actor Iman Vellani. The series first premiered on June 8, 2022, and continued for six episodes till June 13.

The first season of the miniseries met with a lukewarm response from the audience. After June 2022, there had been no update on the upcoming season of the show. Recently the director duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah announced the development of Ms. Marvel season but with a condition.
Creators Confirm Ms. Marvel Season 2 With A Condition
The first season of Ms. Marvel dealt with the origin story of Kamala Khan and laid the foundation for her appearance in Brie Larson’s The Marvels. The Disney+ miniseries failed to strike a chord with the audience which badly impacted its viewership. After June 2022, the directors of the series Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah recently provided a major update on the second season of Ms. Marvel and its future.

During an interview with the media platform an interview with The Playlist during its The Discourse podcast, the director duo was asked about the second season of Ms. Marvel. They spoke about the development of the second season but with a condition linked to Brie Larson’s The Marvels. According to The Playlist interview the director mentioned-
“No, we’re waiting for ‘The Marvels,’ so that will decide what the next step will be. So we’re very much looking forward to that. I can’t wait to see it, man. It’s great to see the trailers and to see the whole family back there and Iman Vellani doing great work, so looking forward to that.”

It has been speculated that if Brie Larson’s The Marvels gets a great audience reception and witnesses a strong run at the box office, then there is a strong possibility that Ms. Marvel’s second season can get to see better days. However, the future of Ms. Marvel season 2 depends directly on The Marvels.

What's the point of this show? It's LITERALLY just a fan girl playing herself, had the original actress who auditioned for Ms Marvel got cast and not screwed over by Disney I probably would actually watch this show.

Frequently asked questions
Is Ms. Marvel Season 2 officially confirmed?
Not as a greenlit production. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah said any next step depends on The Marvels, telling The Discourse podcast, “No, we’re waiting for ‘The Marvels,’ so that will decide what the next step will be.” Season 2 was floated as a possibility tied to that film’s reception, not announced with a release date.
What is the “1 condition” attached to a possible Season 2?
The condition is the performance and reception of The Marvels, the film featuring Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan alongside Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris. The directors indicated the movie’s outcome would decide whether a second season moves forward, rather than committing to it outright.
Why are fans reacting negatively to the Season 2 talk?
Many fans argued the show “doesn’t need a season 2,” with comments like “we don’t want a second season” and “still trying to get over the corny first season,” citing a lukewarm response to Season 1. These are fan opinions posted on social media, not statements from Marvel Studios, and no official decision on a second season had been confirmed at the time.
