David O. Russell Mistreated Amy Adams on the sets of American Hustle
In a 2016 GQ interview, Amy Adams shared that she had a hard time while making the 2o13 dark comedy crime film American Hustle. “I was really just devastated on set. I mean, not every day, but most,” she said at the time, referring to David O. Russell, who made her life difficult. She shared,
“Jennifer [Lawrence] doesn’t take any of it on. She’s Teflon. And I am not Teflon. But I also don’t like to see other people treated badly. It’s not okay with me. Life to me is more important than movies. It really taught me how to separate work and home.”
“Because I was like, ‘I cannot bring this experience home with me to my daughter,” she shared in the 2016 interview about the on-set atmosphere that showed the director’s personality.
She even claimed that she cried because of him and clarified that she would not want to work with him again. It was not the director’s first time engaging in disputes. He is known for his peculiar behavior toward the actors in his films including George Clooney and Lily Tomlin.

The 48-year-old actor, Christian Bale, in a recent GQ interview shared meddling in the on-set disputes between his former co-star Amy Adams and director David O. Russell.
After the incident, reports claimed that the actor did intervene in the situation and asked the director to stop doing that. According to NickiSwift, journalist Jonathan Alter claimed that “Christian Bale got in his face and told him to stop acting like an a**hole.” Sharing how he dealt with the on-set situations, he stated,
“If I can have some sense of understanding of where it’s coming from, then I do tend to attempt to be a mediator. That’s just in my nature, to try to say, ‘Hey, come on, let’s go and sit down and figure that out. There’s gotta be a way of making this all work.”
While Adams said she will not work with the director again, Bale is back with Russell with a new movie, Amsterdam, which is now available in the theatres.
