J.K. Rowling Becomes The Latest Victim of Brutal Russian Pranksters After Billie Eilish and Elton John
British author and philanthropist J.K. Rowling has become the latest victim of brutal Russian Pranksters Vovan and Lexus who are a notorious duo for prank-calling celebrities. J.K. Rowling is known for writing a seven-volume children’s fantasy series, Harry Potter which was published from 1997 to 2007. By 2008, she was named the world’s highest-paid author by Forbes.

She was recently joined on a video call by the notorious duo, Vovan, and Lexus, who tricked the author into believing that she was talking with Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Though, her intention regarding the conversation was different from the duo’s.

The author in a 12-minute video with fake Volodymyr Zelenskyy got viral on the Internet where the pranksters tell the author about Harry Potter’s famous forehead scare that resembles the “Z” symbol that is used on Russian military’s tanks and other weapons. The fake Zelenskyy asked the author if she would switch Harry Potter’s scar to a more pro-Ukraine symbol, to which she replied, “I will look into that, might be good for me to do something with that myself on social media because I think that will get into the newspapers.”
According to Variety, the pranksters also shared with J.K. Rowling that the Ukraine military would begin writing “Avada Kedavra” on its missiles, a reference to the killing curse in the “Harry Potter” franchise.
J.K. Rowling’s Spokesperson Referred That Prank as “Distasteful”

After the truth came to light, J.K. Rowling’s spokesperson describes the prank as ‘distasteful’ adding that her conversation was about something completely different which had been ‘distorted.’ He said, “J.K. Rowling was approached to talk about her extensive charitable work in Ukraine, supporting children and families who have been affected by the current conflict in the region. The video, which has been edited, is a distorted representation of the conversation.”
The author has Lumos which promotes an end to the institutionalization of children worldwide. She has been working with the, We Are Lumos charity organization in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region to help support children and families affected by the war with Russia.
Before Rowling, the pranks pulled by Vovan, and Lexus have also targeted Elton John, Prince Harry, Billie Eilish, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and George W Bush in the past.
