Jaden Smith Thinks “Science Fiction is Cool Because it’s Fake” after Starring in $233M Keanu Reeves Movie
Jaden Smith is one of the most famous youngsters in the world right now. The American rapper has been in the spotlight for years now. Although he does not enjoy being in the spotlight, Smith has always handled the constant attention with a grace that is usually absent in celebrity kids. He is always in the news for one reason or another. Last year, the Icon rapper made headlines after he walked out of a Yeezy show because of Ye’s controversial t-shirt. The young star was applauded and appreciated for this bold move by the fans.

Although Jaden Smith has not appeared on the big screen for a long time now, the young actor has done movies with many A-listers back in the day. The celebrity kid even did a sci-fi movie with Keanu Reeves back in 2008.

Back in 2008, Jaden Smith was just 10 years old when he did a movie with Keanu Reeves. The celebrity kid played a part in the movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still. Keanu Reeves played the lead character in the movie and the movie did well at the box office. Although the critics said the movie’s plot wasn’t good enough, the film still went on to gross over $233 million worldwide. The John Wick actor played the part of an alien sent to Earth whose mission was to change human tendencies so that the planet can be saved from an upcoming environmental crisis.

Jennifer Connelly played another lead role in the movie and Smith played the part of her stepson.
The Karate Kid actor liked doing sci-fi movies back in the day
After having starred in a science fiction movie himself, Jaden Smith had some strong opinions about the genre. Once in an interview, the young actor revealed his love for the sci-fi genre. He said, “I think science fiction is cool because it’s fake. I love aliens and creepy scary stuff, those are the type of movies I really like best.” He further added that he liked movies like Lords of the Rings.
The Ninety rapper also talked about what it was like working with Keanu Reeves in the movie. He said, “He is a really cool guy and a great actor and he is very, very funny. He always had a lot of jokes and also made me feel welcome.” Reeves also had kind words for the young actor when he was asked about Smith after doing the movie.
However, Jaden Smith did not find astronomical success like his father in the movies. His acting career never made headlines after the disappointing failure of After Earth back in 2013.
