Jennifer Lopez Saved Her Wedding Dress for Many Years, Finally Reveals the Mystery Behind It After Tying the Knot With Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are now married, and it was in no cliche big fat ceremony either. The two eloped to Vegas and the minimal wedding turned out to be “the best possible wedding [they] could have imagined”.
The singer updated her On the JLo newsletter with candid shots from her nuptial ceremony with Ben Affleck; and also described the day in detail, the thoughts and feelings going through their hearts and minds, love’s glory in all its might and beauty that it brought them back together even after 20 years, and obviously her very special wedding dress.

The white wedding chapel and a pink Cadillac; straight out of a Hollywood fairytale
JLo wrote the preface of her newsletter, and it read:
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.
We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”

Jennifer Lopez said yes to this Zuhair Murad Bridal dress
THE white dress is easily one of the most important parts of the wedding for a bride and it was no different for the 52-year-old singer-actress. Jennifer Lopez shared that the dress she said yes to, was a “dress from an old movie.”
JLo flaunted herself in two gorgeous white gowns for the occasion and shared glimpses of both of them as well. The dress she wore for the actual ceremony was from the Zuhair Murad Bridal Spring Summer 2023 Collection – an off-shoulder white lace gown with long sleeves and sweetheart neckline, with a corset bodice, fishtail train, and white veil.
She also shared a fun and cutesy video of her donning a white sleeveless dress in her dressing room. The video clip saw her saying, “I feel amazing. I’m so excited. I’ve had this dress for so many years, and I’ve just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day.”
Ben Affleck: The Perfect Groom in a public bathroom
The 49-year-old actor too, like his blushing bride, was a sight in white. He donned a white tuxedo jacket with a black bowtie and matching slacks. Again, much like his bride, the groom shared a video of his dressing area except that it was a public bathroom with graffiti carved into the mirror. He recorded himself there, saying, “And this was my wedding changing area.”
An emotional and heartfelt tribute to love from Jennifer Lopez
The singer shared all her joy and emotions in her newsletter, confessing how a dream has come true at long last. She wrote
“We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”
“When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another. We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives. Thank you to the Little White Wedding chapel for letting me use the break room to change while Ben changed in the men’s room.”
JLo also wrote about how excited she is to start this new chapter of her life with both her and Ben Affleck’s kids – a big happy family, and concluded the newsletter by signing as Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
“They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love.’ We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to.
