Fantastic Beasts star Johnny Depp recently won a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. He is all set to begin a new chapter of his life but to his surprise, there is a sharp decline in his popularity.

Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit against the Aquaman actress over an op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post back in 2018. Amber Heard wrote that “two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.” Johnny Depp won the lawsuit against Amber Heard as the court found her guilty and asked her to pay damages of a total of $10.35 million. Amber Heard won on one account of defamation and was awarded $2 million.

According to stats collected by data company Morning Consult, the actor has witnessed a significant drop in popularity after his win
Johnny Depp received a lot of support on social media ever since he won the defamation trial against Amber Heard but as per the stats collected by data company Morning Consult, the actor has witnessed a sharp decline in popularity after his win. In April, about 68% of US adults were ‘very’ and ‘somewhat’ favorable towards Johnny Depp. However, the numbers dropped to 56% in June. The number went down from 67 to 52% among men during the same period while the number remained the same among women and youth.
