Fans have been wondering how Kelly Ripa felt about leaving the program she co-hosts with Ryan Seacrest in Live With Kelly and Ryan, after 30 years in Hollywood. As of now, Ripa hasn’t said anything about leaving Live, but she is expanding her horizons. With her brand-new ABC game show Generation Gap, the 51-year-old is advancing her career. Additionally, she has used her off-air time to work on her new book in the limited free time she has. The star recently announced on Instagram that she will be traveling to promote her book, adding another item to her never-ending list of things to do.

Ripa took over as the show’s host in Philbin’s place, and she returned to host Live! with Kelly the following November 21, 2011. Michael Strahan was named as the new co-host following an on-air search akin to hers. They worked together on projects for four years, from 2012 to 2016. Ripa acknowledged that when Strahan announced that he would be leaving the program to join Good Morning America, she was “blindsided.” Ripa nearly quit the show herself as a result of the controversy.

Kelly Ripa felt upset when she  learnt about Michael Strahan’s departure!

According to sources, Kelly Ripa was “furious” that she was “last to hear” about Michael Strahan, her co-anchor, leaving and getting a promotion. As a result of feeling “overshadowed” by co-anchor Michael Strahan, who joined Good Morning America full-time, Ripa allegedly refused to answer calls from network executives. Michael Strahan opened up about his time working with former co-host Kelly Ripa after he announced his resignation. The former NFL star admitted he was unaware that his role was to serve as her “sidekick.”

He formally left the program on May 13, three months ahead of schedule. Strahan compared his TV career to his time playing for the New York Giants in the National Football League in an interview with David Marchese for The New York Times.

Kelly Ripa’s quitting left the Producers of ‘Live With Kelly And Michael’ worried

An emotional Ripa addressed Strahan’s departure from Live With Kelly and Michael in front of a live audience after a four-day absence. After ABC revealed that Michael Strahan is moving to Good Morning America, the show had a turbulent few days that came to an end with Ripa’s return. Ripa reportedly felt “blindedsided” by the information and was upset with Disney-ABC executives because it took her so long to learn about the choice. According to reports, Ripa was only made aware of the significant change after a news release had been distributed to the rest of the world. As a result, Ripa made the decision to take the next day off from work. Producers were alarmed to learn she had left the show because they were unable to contact her. The reason for Ripa’s absence, according to her publicist, was a previously planned vacation.

When she returned, Ripa addressed the audience and expressed her “thrilled” support for her former co-host, adding that the controversy had sparked a deeper discussion about “communication, consideration, and respect in the workplace.” She responded to questions about her absence from the program and rumors that she had left by stating that she needed a few days to collect her thoughts. The former soap actor claimed that she gained some perspective and that the events of these days were extraordinary.
