Kelly Ripa Humiliates “Live” Co-Host Ryan Seacrest, Openly Sides With Close Friend Andy Cohen after Seacrest Called Out Cohen’s Problematic Attitude
Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest have been hosting Live With Kelly and Ryan for a long time now. Due to their common gig, they quickly became friends with each other. Their on-screen chemistry is one of the fan favorites which is why they are also set to be in charge of the Post Oscars Show. Even though their camaraderie is well-appreciated, the former took her close friend, Andy Cohen’s side when her co-host shared an incident involving Cohen.
Last month, the 48-year-old TV host opened up about getting snubbed by Cohen when the duo was filming their New Year’s Eve specials separately around a near distance. However, the former was quick to clap back at her co-host’s claims which was quite a surprise even for Seacrest.
Andy Cohen Reportedly Gave a Cold Shoulder to Ryan Seacrest on New Year’s Eve
Andy Cohen is one of the influential media personalities popularly known for his late-night show, Watch What Happens Live. He reportedly was on bad terms with Live! co-host Ryan Seacrest which started on last year’s New Year’s Eve.
Their feud reports surfaced once again when the co-host during an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan opened up about getting the cold shoulder from the former following this year’s New Year’s Eve broadcasts.
The duo was hosting their New Year’s Eve special episode apparently less than 10 feet away from each other’s location. Cohen was filming the episode with Anderson Cooper at the time.
The 48-year-old shared,
“It was funny because my big stage was right in front of Anderson and Andy, and so when I was not working, I was trying to, like, get their attention.”
He added,
“I thought maybe I was in the shot. I just wanted to wave and say hi. You know, they have a great show.”
He claimed that Cooper waved at him and even wished him a good show while “Andy did not turn around.” However, the American Idol host’s co-star quickly stepped into the scenario and shared her opinions on the same.
Kelly Ripa Supported Andy Cohen After Learning about The Situation
The 52-year-old star on hearing about her co-host’s narrative went on to defend her friend, Cohen and shared he was not at fault there.
“That’s not true,” she shared. “He said he was trying to get your attention.”
On hearing Kelly Ripa‘s remarks, Seacrest was taken aback as he was expecting the actress to support him which eventually didn’t happen at the time.
Meanwhile, Cohen did address the awkward snubbing incident as claimed by the American Idol host, and gave a justifiable answer on an episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live podcast.
In the podcast, he called Cooper and asked about the incident with Cooper confirming that he didn’t inform the podcaster about Seacrest’s presence as Cohen was “involved in like some producer…”
He later on confirmed that he just did not see the Live! co-host at the time and put an end to the cold shoulder rumors.
