The French American actor Lily-Rose Depp is making headlines with her HBO show The Idol. The television series is directed by Sam Levinson. The much-hyped drama is based on an aspiring pop star played by the daughter of Pirates Of The Caribbean actor Lily-Rose Depp. The show is the first collaboration of the singer The Weeknd and Malcolm And Marie director Sam Levinson.

The HBO show became the talk of the tinsel town due to its provocative nature. Abel Tesfaye, popularly known as The Weeknd, is starring opposite Lily-Rose Depp in The Idol. The show has some reputed names associated with it like- real-life pop star Jennie of Blackpink, Dan Levy, Troye Sivan, Rachel Sennott, and Jane Adams. The Idol would be aired on HBO on June 4, 2023.

Lily-Rose Depp On Working With Her Co-star The Weeknd’s Drama In The Idol

The HBO drama is creating waves in the entertainment industry due to its provocative content and theme. Director Sam Levinson and The Weeknd have come together for the first time for a creative project. However, according, to the conversation and agreement between the director and the musician, the major of the part of The Idol should have revolved around The Weeknd. Whereas the Blinding Lights singer expressed his dissatisfaction over his screen time with the creative production team. He even voiced his opinion on the show’s focus on the ‘female perspective’ and how maximum attention was given to Lily-Rose Depp‘s character.

The Voyagers star went on to speak to W magazine about her experience working with the reputed singer The Weeknd. She said-

“I never expected things to work out in my favor.” According to the actor, her casting was “the best surprise ever” and she even recalled the moment she had received the call.

The actor even mentioned the kind of bond she shares with her co-star, The Weeknd, “… A really good friend who’s had my back. We’ve gone on this wild ride together. It was a first for both of us in a lot of ways. We had met socially, but I didn’t know him,” Depp recalled. “Abel is so warm and friendly, but I was very nervous about the chemistry read because I really wanted the part.”

Lily-Rose Depp enjoyed working with people belonging to the almost same age bracket. The actor even mentioned that it was one of a kind type of experience working with the famous singer The Weeknd.

Lily-Rose Depp Is Happy About Her Father Johnny Depp’s Comeback

After the much-publicized messy defamation trial, Johnny Depp made a comeback to the movies with  Jeanne du Barry at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. The Entourage actor’s presence was cheered and celebrated at Cannes by his fans and followers. The 59-year-old actor’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp was super happy for him and even went on to express this in an interview with the media house Entertainment Tonight. The 23-year-old actor said-

“I’m super happy for him. I’m super excited, And it’s so awesome that we get to do projects that we’re super proud of.”

A source close to the actor even revealed Johnny Depp’s topmost priorities after his comeback. The source said-

“He really enjoys working and touring again. He has managed to turn his life around. He is prioritizing his health and work.”

Johnny Depp received a seven-minute standing ovation after the premiere of  Jeanne du Barry at the Cannes Film Festival 2023.
