In the first month of 2021, the Tomb Raider actress sold her share to Tenute Del Mondo. Right after Brad Pitt responded with a lawsuit over a “breach of contract” explaining that a 2019 agreement between the two required the approval of one party if the other party decided to sell their share. However, Angelina Jolie won the lawsuit and went on to file a $250 million counter-lawsuit against Brad Pitt over his tactics to remove her from the winery shares overall. The reports claim that Pitt filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife and had launched a campaign to seize total control of the winery. It stated:
” he did it in retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings” and “to ensure Jolie never see a dime” of the winery’s profit.”
A recent leak of an email allegedly written by Jolie to the Inglorious Bastards actor on TikTok seems to support her claims against Brad Pitt. The email explains that her decision to sell was not to “intentionally harm the business’ reputation”. In the email letter, she writes,
“But it is also the place that marks the beginning of the end of our family – and a business that is centered around alcohol. I had hoped somehow it could become something that held us together and we found light and peace. I see now how you have really wanted me out and will most likely be pleased to receive this email.”
Further, she wrote,
“The alternative is that a complete buyout of my share in the property and business by you, the Perrin family or your associates. Either way, I believe we need to move forward in order to heal and focus on where our family comes together, and where we have positive associations. And to do so quickly.”
It is apparent from the above excerpt that Jolie meant no harm when deciding to sell her share. And that her claims have solid ground.
The leaked Email also sheds a New Light on her Decision to get a Divorce.
It can be drawn from the alleged email written by the Maleficent actress. An incident that occurred in the winery might have been the primary reason for the divorce. In the email letter to Pitt, Jolie writes
“But it is also the place that marks the beginning of the end of our family – and a business that is centered around alcohol.”
This explains that the decision to sell her share was related to the divorce back in 2016. Although the winery issue came up way after. The Tomb Raider actress shared that “Miraval for me died in 2016”. And Brad Pitt getting drunk during the winery visit and his erratic behavior towards their children and herself was the primary reason for their divorce.
