Meghan Markle Tries to Protect ‘Mental Peace’ by Hiking While Husband Prince Harry Flies Back from Home Moments After Coronation
Amid ongoing tension between Prince Harry and his family, Meghan Markle skipped King Charles III’s coronation ceremony. Buckingham Palace previously confirmed the absence of the Duchess of Sussex from the historic occasion due to unspecified reasons. However, Prince Harry was spotted at his father’s crowning ceremony, although he flew back to the US immediately after the coronation.
While the Duke of Sussex was seen attending his father and stepmother’s coronation, Meghan Markle was spotted hiking with her friends to maintain her mental peace. Purposefully skipping the UK’s greatest historic event, Markle went hiking with Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak in California.
Meghan Markle’s Hiking Quest With Friends
Meghan Markle made a rare appearance in California with her friends, after skipping King Charles III’s coronation ceremony. Stepping outside for her peaceful 40 minutes hike, on Sunday morning, the Duchess of Sussex was sighted with longtime pals, Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak. Trying to stay incognito, Markle avoided taking her children along for the hike.
Keeping it casual in a navy blue loose-fitted top, activewear bottoms, and brown hiking shoes, the Suits alum tied a forest green jacket around her waist. She completed her look by accessorizing it with large-frame sunglasses, a scarf, and a Panama hat. Wishing to have a good time, while her husband, Prince Harry, was away attending the coronation of King Charles, Meghan Markel attempted to “protect her peace” through hiking.
Meghan Markle Skipped Attending The Coronation
Leaving her house for a hike over the weekend, after repeatedly confirming her absence from King Charles III‘s coronation ceremony, Meghan Markle took a big leap. Without stating her reasons for avoiding the coronation ceremony, amid her and Prince Harry’s fractured relationship with the Royals, the 41-year-old simply revealed her decision.
Confirming the Sussexes’ decision, the palace released a statement, “The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th”. Stating clearly about Markle’s absence, the palace mentioned, “The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.” Although the intentions were not revealed, sources mentioned one of the possible reasons for Markle being absent from the ceremony.
Stating the coincidence of the historic occasion and Archie’s birthday being on the same day, insiders claimed that Markle refused to skip out on her son’s birthday. “There was no way that Meghan was going to miss her son’s birthday,” sources revealed. However, Prince Harry took the initiative of attending his father’s crowning ceremony despite all odds. Although it was reported that the Duke immediately flew back to California on time, to attend his son’s 4th birthday.
