Although sources are “unable to give costs or a breakdown of funding”, the “true figures” for the coronation “will be shared in due course” by Buckingham Palace. However, as of now, DailyMail confirmed, the estimated amount spent on the coronation is actually coming from the taxpayers of the UK. Although the Cabinet Office minister, Oliver Dowden explained, “These are moments in the life of our nation. They bring joy to millions of people.” citizens are still shocked by the eye-watering amount.

Further being “mindful of ensuring that there is value for the taxpayer” Dowden explained, “It has always been the case that the government has paid for Coronations.” The minister further clarified, “The reason for doing so is that the sovereign is our Head of State and it is important that we mark that properly.”

Although some aren’t pleased with the expenses involved in the coronation given the cost of living crisis in the UK, there’s only so much they can do.
