‘Minions is Better’: Internet’s Convinced Minions: The Rise of Gru is a Better Movie Than Thor: Ragnarok, Doctor Strange 2, Lightyear Combined
Recently, Minions: The Rise of Gru rolled into the theatres and fans cannot get enough of it. The movie earned over $200 million over the Fourth of July holiday weekend out of which roughly $125 million came domestically. Some fans even claim that the movie is better than Thor: Love and Thunder and Pixar’s Lightyear.
A recent trend is going around on social media called #GentleMinion
People have now started the trend called #GentleMinion of going to see Minions: The Rise of Gru dressed up fully in suits. The trend is basically young people dress in their finest attire and book entire theaters to throw literal bananas on the screen later and cheer unconditionally throughout the film. The fans of the original Despicable Me, which came out over a decade ago, are members of Gen Z who were the original targets of the franchise. They are now showing up to the new origin film dressed up fully in suits. While Universal Studios approved this trend, theatres are not happy with it.

The move was approved by Universal Studios
Multiple theaters are banning the #Gentleminions moviegoers but Universal Studios finally addressed the trend. We don’t blame them as The Rise of Gru has had the biggest opening of the Despicable Me franchise, leading to Universal Studios even announcing a Despicable Me 4 for July 3, 2024.
to everyone showing up to @Minions in suits: we see you and we love you. 🫶
