While the continuation is still in question, a live-action movie has officially been confirmed. What’s more exciting are the actors who would be portraying the beloved characters seen in the animated franchise.

The 20-year-old actor Asher Angel entered the entertainment industry as a child actor. He got prominence when he portrayed the role of  Billy Batson in the DC Extended Universe film, Shazam! and its sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Having gained quite a following for his portrayal, he is reportedly in negotiation to take the lead role of Hiccup in the How to Train Your Dragon live-action movie which is currently in development.

Though there is no official confirmation about him having any link with the film as of yet, the actor has liked a tweet that reported his links with the remake. Not just that, fans are also considering another actor, Aidan Gallagher for the same role.

The How to Train Your Dragon trilogy did a commendable job in captivating their fans’ attention. Since its release in 2010, the main lead, Hiccup has gone through some major adventures and eventually established the franchise in the film industry.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, it has been confirmed that a live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie is in development at Universal Pictures. While many fans are still waiting for a continuation after the last installment which was released in 2019, the forthcoming film will be adapting the trilogy story.

The trilogy’s filmmaker, Dean DeBlois will be reprising his role to lead the live-action film as director, writer, and producer. While the casting is yet to be announced, the film is currently set to release on March 14, 2025.

The How To Train Your Dragon trilogy is available on Netflix.
