“Penalize them”: Tom Brady’s Rumored Flame Paige Spiranac Spews Venom for Unfair Rules, Calls it Cheating
Golf player and influencer, Paige Spiranac is one of the internet’s most talked-about celebrities right now. Well, her name can now be added to the growing list of golf celebrities, who are upset about the recent uptick in slow play at the 2023 Masters game.
Following the contentious pace displayed at the 2023 Masters earlier this month, the 30-year-old golf instructor offered her opinion on the subject on Tuesday.
The slow play by Patrick Cantlay at Augusta continues to be a hot topic. The World No. 4 faced a lot of backlash because of the pace of his play at the 87th Masters. Even other golfers in the same competition expressed their displeasure with his pre-shot routine. Golfer, Brooks Koepka, who finished second at the Masters, had previously expressed his displeasure with Cantlay’s team, calling them “brutally slow.”
Another well-known golfer has recently made fun of the 31-year-old for allegedly playing too slowly. Paige Spiranac has now called for significant changes, referring to the incident as part of a “larger problem.”
Paige Spiranac Demanded A Penalty For The Masters’ Alleged Slow Play
The 2023 Masters had plenty of drama, including a PGA-LIV battle and unexpected exits. Even now, days after the contest was over, there is still much discussion about Patrick Cantlay’s playing strategy. The slow-play situation has also received some commentary from everyone’s favorite social media golfing influencer, Paige Spiranac.
The 30-year-old claimed, in a video posted by @PointsBetUSA on Twitter, that she had witnessed paint drying more quickly than Augusta National’s rounds did.
Tom Brady’s rumored flame acknowledged the seriousness of the issue without specifically naming any golfers and offered some suggestions using examples from other sports. She even blamed the organizers for the unfair rules, further calling it cheating.
“Look at any other sport. They are not just going to extend the time because they are playing for a championship. Can you imagine if Michael Jordan was just dribbling away,” she asked in the video.

Moreover, she stated that a golfer has “40 seconds” to make their shot. She further noted,
“Penalize them if they don’t hit it in 40 seconds! That’s it. If they don’t do so in the allotted time, they should be penalized.”
The former pro golfer ripped into slow play at the Masters, calling it “unsportsmanlike” and “a form of cheating.”
But Patrick Cantlay Has Denied Allegations Of Slow Play
Patrick Cantlay, who finished T14 at the Augusta National, has a strong showing at the 2023 RBC Heritage. The World No. 4 placed third in Hilton Head and has taken home a whopping $1,380,000 in prize money. Additionally, he denied the claims of slow play that were made against him at the Masters.
The golfer jokingly tweeted, “Playing faster!” while posting a video of his amazing hole-in-one from the PGA Tour competition. In response to Brooks Koepka’s claims, Cantlay clarified,
“When you play a golf course like Augusta National where all the hole locations are on lots of slope and the greens are really fast, it’s just going to take longer and longer to hole out.”
Brooks Koepka, a four-time major winner, also bemoaned the allegedly slow play, saying, “Yeah, the group in front of us was brutally slow. Jon went to the bathroom like seven times during the round, and we were still waiting.”
Patrick Cantlay, however, has vehemently refuted Koepka’s claims and denied all of the allegations.
