Petition To Remove Amber Heard From Aquaman 2 Reaches 1.5 Million Signatures
Johnny Depp fans initiated a petition to fire actress Amber Heard from Marvel‘s Aquaman 2. It has now obtained more than 1.5 million signatures. It came after Depp’s fans claimed that his former wife “systematically crusaded” to destroy her ex-husband’s career.

The petition actually came after Johnny Depp has lost a lawsuit against the British newspaper. The newspaper alleged that he was a “wife-beater”. Depp’s lawsuit argued that there was “significant evidence” that he had not abused his ex-wife during their marriage.
Judge Andrew Nicol mentioned that the assaults caused by Depp against Heard involved “head-butting Mrs. Heard”. They also said he had continually hit her, ripping out clumps of her hair. During their two-year marriage from 2015 to 2017. Both Heard and Johnny repeatedly accused each other of domestic violence.
Depp leaves Fantastic Beasts
Before the court case, Depp left the role of Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts, the third film in the series. He did so when Warner Bros studio executives reportedly demanded his resignation over the domestic abuse case.
As a result, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor withdrew from the role.
Fans take a stand for Johnny Depp
After Depp’s departure from Fantastic Beasts, the fans came out to support him. In the petition, the fans are demanding that Heard be fired from Aquaman 2. They claim that she has “systematically crusaded” to destroy Depp’s Hollywood career. The petition was titled “Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2”. It alleged that Heard had made false accounts of him as an abuser.
The petition stated that Johnny Depp had revealed Amber Heard as a domestic abuser. Meanwhile, in his $50 million lawsuit, Depp described several incidents of domestic abuse, he had suffered at the hands of his former wife. These included an event where she hit him twice in the face.
Depp also claimed that Heard had shattered his finger with a bottle of vodka, leading to a surgical readjustment of his finger.
The petition also read that Heard had recounted the fabricated incidents of Johnny Depp hitting her in the face. In the meantime, it is alleged that she hit him and ended by mentioning that Amber Heard is a well-known and proven domestic abuser. Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment “should and must” expel her from the Aquaman 2 project.
Amber Heard discusses the rumors
As stated by the New York Times, on November 12, Heard discussed the petition’s rumors, saying they were “baseless.” She further said, “paid rumors and paid social media campaigns” don’t dictate casting decisions. Heard said this is because they have no connection to reality.
Heard went on to state that it was only the fans who made Aquaman and Aquaman 2 happen. In the end, she mentioned that she is excited about getting started next year.
