Ever since the character’s creation in the early 2000s, he has served as the face of the franchise. The thought of someone else donning the long brown pirate coat and tricorn helmet is nearly unimaginable.

However, as new reports emerged of a possible sixth installment, there is some hope for fans. Actress Zoe Saldana who played Anamaria in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in an interview, talked about the franchise and stated the reason she hated working with Johnny Depp.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise has given the world Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp, to love. Depp’s portrayal of the iconic character since the beginning of the franchise has brought him into the spotlight. Another actor that got famous through the franchise is Zoe Saldana

The actress Anamaria in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In a recent interview, Saldana revealed she hated working on the franchise. She described her experience as not so good.

The Guardians of the Galaxy actress said,

“For Pirates of the Caribbean, I played Anamaria and I really had a not-so-good experience because of just the poor management at that time and Jerry Bruckheimer knows this we spoke about it.”

Saldana further revealed after seeing her comments, producer Jerry Bruckheimer personally apologized to her, and it was quite honorable. While the actress is in talks to return to the franchise and reprise her role, the apology might be a ray of hope for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

The future of the Johnny Depp-starring adventure drama franchise is questionable with the release of the fifth movie in 2017. It’s been seven years, and there have been no discussions about the next chapter. Fans remain in the dark since one of the principal actors, Depp, had his personal and professional life clouded by the much-publicized defamation case.

Since the trial, Depp’s future involvement with the Pirates of the Caribbean movies has been up in the air for a while now. The actor has turned his back on the franchise as Disney decided to cut him off after the defamation trial.

A sixth film in the franchise is trapped in development limbo for quite some time. There are reports of a female-led spin-off movie with Margot Robbie in the lead in development. Christina Hodson is on board to provide the script for the new movie.

However, there is news that the film is being produced independently from the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Despite its delays and rumors of cancellation, Bruckheimer is determined to get the project off the ground and portray the story that Hodson has concocted. However, there is no confirmation regarding the film, and the future of Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is in the dark.
