Fans who desire to watch Robert Downey Jr‘s Oppenheimer this Christmas have to continue waiting for the epic hit to stream on Peacock distributed by Universal Pictures. According to the post shared by PeacockTVCare on X (earlier Twitter) responding to a fan’s query, there have been no official updates on which date or time the film will hit the streamer.

Christopher Nolan‘s blockbuster has made history with the longest Universal Pictures film to hit on the streamer. The director has crafted an incredible work in his project with a star-studded cast which is one of the reasons why Cillian Murphy‘s movie thrilled the viewers. Florence Pugh who played Oppenheimer’s first love and long-time mistress, Jean Tatlock also shared her experience working with the director (via Digital Spy)

“I think every single person has come to set knowing that they have been hired because, somewhere along the line, Chris thought that you did a good job, and this goes for the crew as well.”

Physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer played by Cillian Murphy was one of the brains behind the Manhattan Project whose story was deeply examined as to why he stayed connected with Pugh’s Jean Tatlock. Downey Jr. who plays Louis Strauss the main antagonist was immensely praised for portraying a distinct character.

Christopher Nolan’s Thoughts Over Relying on Streaming Platforms

Christopher Nolan humorously mentions the risk of movies solely relying on streaming platforms as he believes that those platforms can remove the projects on their will and it becomes challenging for viewers to watch the movie.

While talking about Oppenheimer the director also mentions to ensure the blue-ray copy to maintain the quality of his work. In an interview with The Washington Post, the Interstellar director said:

“There is a danger, these days, that if things only exist in the streaming version they do get taken down, they come and go.”

According to Variety, Nolan previously said that he worked for months on Oppenheimer to make the home release maintain the quality that the film’s theatrical release had. He added:

“I’m known for my love of theatrical and put my whole life into that, but, the truth is, the way the film goes out at home is equally important.”

Christopher Nolan’s epic film has earned $950.22 million worldwide which makes it one of the most successful movies after 2019.
