Ryan Gosling’s Wife Eva Mendes Has Regrets Over Her Kissing Scene With Johnny Depp: “I was so intimidated by him”
Eva Mendes may find it difficult to pick her favorite co-star after sharing passionate kisses with a number of well-known Hollywood actors, including Jason Sudeikis and Will Smith. Evidently not, as the Ghost Rider actress couldn’t stop gushing about her kiss with Johnny Depp. So, we currently have a clear winner.
In 2003, the 49-year-old actress co-starred with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in the Western drama, Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Sure, the actress has shared many memorable on-screen kisses, but Depp unquestionably took the cake.
But Mendes once admitted her regret for her kiss scene that she shared with her Once Upon a Time in Mexico co-star. Why?
This is because she wished it could have lasted longer.
In the 2003 movie, the Out of Time actress played Depp’s co-star; however, because of her intense crush on him, she did not fully enjoy their on-screen kiss.

Eva Mendes has shared some great, steamy kisses with her co-stars, including Nicolas Cage and Gabriel Macht. However, for her, nobody quite met Johnny Depp‘s standards. Mendes and Depp appeared together in the film, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, where they shared a memorable kiss. But, she felt regretful for not kissing the Golden Globe winner “longer”.
Because it was her first time working with someone she had been so smitten with, the Last Night actress had at first found Depp to be quite “intimidating“. But eventually, the two grew close, and Mendes experienced her best-ever on-screen kiss.
“All of my screen kisses were the best, though I regret not kissing Johnny Depp for longer. I was so intimidated by him. It was the first time I had worked with an actor who I had crushed on as a little girl.”
Mendes, however, had not been dating anyone at the time. Well, if she were asked about her best kiss today, she would undoubtedly mention her long-term relationship with her husband, Ryan Gosling.

American actress, Eva Mendes, and Canadian actor, Ryan Gosling are one of Hollywood’s hottest power couples. Gosling received a Golden Globe Award, and Mendes received a Giffoni Experience Award, during their successful careers in the spotlight.
Mendes and Gosling first became romantically involved in 2011 after meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines, and their relationship has only grown since then. Their marriage was only made public in November 2022!
Although the couple has always made an effort to keep their love lives private, Mendes secretly announced in November 2022 that she had married the Barbie actor. She once discussed with Kelly Clarkson how she kept her professionalism while on the red carpet.
“I’m not in love with him,” she declared as she reflected on the glamorous event. “Cause we just were trying to be very professional,” she added.
Well, the mother of two continues to compliment her husband while sharing pictures and videos from some of his most recent acting roles.
As of right now, the couple are proud parents of two happy daughters. Even today, Mendes and Gosling prefer to keep their relationship private from the prying eyes of the public.
