Samuel L. Jackson started his acting career by appearing in plays. In the late 1980s, he was cast in small roles in Spike Lee’s movies School Daze and Do the Right Thing. His first starring role did not come until 1993 when he starred in the movie National Lampoon’s Loaded Gun 1. He gained international recognition for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.

Samuel L. Jackson appeared in numerous blockbuster movies after his breakthrough and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000. In 2002, he gave Marvel Comics the consent to design the character Nick Fury after his likeness. He made his first appearance as Fury in 2008’s Iron Man‘s post-credits scene. His recent Marvel movie The Marvels earned him a massive salary.

Fortunately, that did not turn out to be the case for the A Time to Kill star who seems as eager as his fans, if not more, to explore the character of Nick Fury. In an interview with Empire, when he was asked about his plans for the character, he said:

“I love playing him, and I love the fact that they’re opening him up to all these other possibilities and this whole life that he has. So hopefully I’m not done, and in this new phase of the MCU I’ll still be floating in and out of there somehow, some way.”

In Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion, a completely new version of Nick Fury is seen as the character loses his signature eye patch, goatee, and leather jacket. It is a more vulnerable take on this character that had long been considered a superhuman.
