Kylie Jenner called out for being “unsanitary”
Kylie Jenner posted a series of pictures and videos of her in the makeup lab wearing a white lab coat with her hair loose over her shoulders. She captioned the post: “in the lab creating new magic for you guys better than ever. @kyliecosmetics“
“Working with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) is part of my job. I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab without a hair net…AND GLOVES.”
The makeup expert further asked, “what ignorant lab let [Jenner] touch things without following proper sanitation protocols?” Later on, Bennett wrote a long message on his own Instagram page, commenting on the whole thing.
“Shame on you” – Kylie Jenner to haters
Kylie Jenner claimed that at the time that these pictures were taken, she was in a “small, personal space”. She shared, “[I was] creating my own fun samples and taking pictures for content nowhere near the mass manufacturing. No one is putting customers at risk ! Shame on you Kevin for spreading false information!!!!”
Kevin Bennett was quick to snap back, saying:
“So you were standing on a platform, looking into an expensive homogenizing kettle that had processed at least 50 liters of a complexion product (the product still covering the mixing paddles) without PPE or your hair tied back, wearing a @weareregi lab coat? But this is not a cosmetics manufacturing facility? It’s personal space?”
Two sides of the coin
According to Page Six, exclusive sources revealed that “Jenner was not on the production floor when the pictures and videos were taken as she was simply reviewing colors and ideating on new concepts.”So far, people have had fairly mixed reactions to the whole debacle. While some fans defended Jenner, saying:
“Many brand owners take those pictures. She’s not doing anything wrong and we have zero way to know how involved she is in the formulation”.
Some were abjectly against the whole thing.
“I’ve seen all kinds of scenarios in development labs, but uncovered hair near a kettle in production would never happen. Full stop.”
The makeup brand Kylie Cosmetics has been highly successful since its inception in 2014, and it also landed its owner the title of the “Youngest self-made billionaire” in 2019.
