During an interview with Bethenny Frankel on her show Bethenny, the Sabrina The Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart admitted in 2013 that she took Britney Spears to her first club when she was underage to go at such place. While speaking to Bethenny Frankel about all her personal experiences during her career and her relationships with ex-lovers James Van Der Beek, Jerry O’Connell, Ryan Reynolds, Nick Carter and Adrian Grenier, she recalled that rule-breaking incident and explained what was happened then. Hart launched her memoir Melissa Explains It All in 2013, which she discussed and promoted during her interview.
Hart told Frankel,
“She was young, and I could see the stress on her face. I was like, ‘Do you want to got lunch?’ and she was like, ‘Yes, yes. Let’s go to lunch,’ and then someone behind her would go, ‘No, no, no. You have interviews, you have to go to vocal coaching, you have to go to the gym, and then you have to go on your tour.’ And she was like, ‘Okay, maybe later.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s go to dinner tonight.’”
The Drive Me Crazy star continued,
“So I went to her hotel and I invited her to come out with me and we went to a club. She was underage so I snuck her in the back door and we did a little dancing and then people sort of swarmed on top of her and then she got stuck at a table hanging out with people, chit chatting and I was like, ‘I’ve got to go to work tomorrow can I go?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, go I am good. They will get me home.’”
From her early childhood, Spears was a singer and dancer. She performed in local fairs before making her television debut on Star Search. Several significant labels rejected Spears before Jive Records signed her; afterwards, she was swept up in a whirlwind of recording, rehearsing, and promoting her new album. Hart and Spears shared a good friend bond while filming of Sabrina The Teenage Witch Season 4.
