“She’s solidifying his victory”: Expert Confirms Amber Heard Made Herself Look Even More Evil By Settling Johnny Depp Case in Such a Hurry
As a public figure, Johnny Depp struggled to a high bar to win his famous case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Experts praised Johnny Depp’s “smart PR move” after Amber Heard agreed to pay her ex-husband $1 million to settle his defamation lawsuit against her. Heard’s choice to award Johnny Depp the $1 million defamation case payout has reportedly been called a “PR win,” according to claims made by civil and criminal attorney Tim Parlatore. After the former couple’s six-week defamation trial concluded in June with Depp’s victory, Heard decided to withdraw her appeal months later.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed a lawsuit against Heard over her op-ed in the Washington Post from the same year, in which she identified herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse. The actor even claimed that it had a negative impact on her career.
Negative message for abuse victims in Amber Heard & Johnny Depp case
Johnny Depp received $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages from a Virginia court. This was reduced to $350,000 due to the state’s statutory cap on punitive damages. Amber Heard‘s countersuit against Depp received just $2 million in damages from the jury. One of Heard’s insurance policies will cover the $1 million settlement. Tim Parlatore, a civil and criminal attorney, told Fox News Digital that the settlement “enshrines” Depp’s victory in the case.
According to Parlatore, “this enshrines his win. she’s solidifying his victory.” The lawyer also addressed the “Aquaman” actress’ Instagram post, in which she wrote that she “defended my truth” and made it clear that, despite deciding to withdraw her appeal, she “made no admission.” She added that the agreement places no limitations on her right to speak freely about the situation or her accusations of abuse against Depp.
Second count against Amber Heard!
Tim Parlatore claimed that if Amber Heard wrote another op-ed making the same claims that the jury found defamatory, she might be sued again and that Johnny Depp “would win because he already has a finding.” The lawyer told the outlet that while “everything is couched in terms of ‘I spoke my truth in court,’ she doesn’t explicitly say he did this to me or that.” According to Fox News, Todd Spodek, a lawyer in New York, praised Depp and described the settlement as a kind act on his part.
Meanwhile, Reputation Management Consultants chairman Eric Schiffer of Los Angeles referred to the settlement as “Depp’s incredibly smart PR move.” He explained to Fox News, “It shows compassion and avoids Amber potentially having to file for bankruptcy with a young child with him having been the cause.”

Depp had previously sued The Sun in the U.K. High Court over the publication’s article branding him a “wife beater” in an effort to establish his innocence. He did not win the case, though, as the judge found the claims made in the newspaper to be “substantially true.”
