After working on five projects together, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo Dicaprio have come together for a sixth collaboration. With a plot based in the 1920’s the movie revolves around the twisted tale of greed and oppression.

Statistically, every Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese movie has broken the record of their previous collaboration. It has been expected that the Killers Of The Flower Moon would break the box-office record of The Wolf Of The Wall Street.

Martin Scorsese Loves Working With Robert DeNiro And Leonardo DiCaprio

Martin Scorsese has a soft spot for Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro and their collaborations speak volumes about it both commercially and critically. During an interview with Deadline, the reputed filmmaker openly spoke about why he loves to collaborate with both actors. He said-

“He goes to these weird places that are so difficult and convoluted, and through the convolution, somehow there’s a clarity that we reach. And usually, it’s in the expression, in his face, in his eyes. I’ve always told him this. He’s a natural film actor.”

He was all praises for Leonardo DiCaprio and said-

“I could shoot a close-up of him, he could be thinking of nothing, and I could intercut anything with it, and people will say, ‘Oh, he’s reacting to such and such.’ It’s the Kuleshov experiment. You could do that with him. There’s something in his face that the camera locks into, in his eyes. The slightest movement, we know it.”

Martin Scorsese has known The Irishman actor for a long time and shares a great bond with him. While talking about Robert DeNiro, he said-

“By doing Mean Streets and Taxi Driver (1976) together, we found that we were drawn to the same subject matter, same psychological and emotion conflicts in people, in characters, and in ourselves. A certain trust was developed. I resisted Raging Bull for several years for certain reasons, but he really insisted that it’d be good for me.”

While talking about his relationship dynamics with the Taxi Driver actor, he even mentioned-

“He’s the only one alive now who knows where I come from, as kids, as young people. So the keyword is trust, fearless, and less vanity. He’s concerned about the make-up and how the character looks, but not about beauty and trying to make him look better with special lighting. He says if the camera is on my back and someone else’s face makes it look better, do that.”
