Hugh Jackman is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood now, but at the beginning of his career, he did not get a breakthrough for four years. He began his professional acting career in 1995 when he received a call on which he was offered a role in the ABC TV Australian television series Correlli, which was canceled after a single season.

After Hugh Jackman got an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor in 1998, he felt that it could possibly not get better. Contrary to his expectations, two years later, he landed the role of the Marvel comic superhero Wolverine. He announced his departure from that role in 2015. However, he is reprising the character once again in the upcoming movie Deadpool 3 and a recent update has sent fans into a frenzy.

Hugh Jackman Gives An Update on Deadpool 3

Hugh Jackman‘s breakthrough role did not come until 2000 when he was cast as the clawed superhero in Bryan Singer’s movie X-Men. The character was hard for him to play because although he had very few lines in the movie, he had a lot of emotions to convey. Not only was the film commercially successful but also earned him a Saturn Award for Best Actor.

Some actors end up playing the same character for years and years, and no one seems to get bored of them as they become fan favorites. It comes to a point where it is practically impossible to imagine anyone else as a character other than the one that people have gotten used to.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine stands no exception to this but what many might not know is that he almost did not star as the superhero. One of the reasons for this was his tall stature. According to the Marvel comics, Wolverine is only 5ft 3 inches but Jackman is 6ft 3 inches. So, different measures had to be taken to make the actor look shorter than his actual height.

Thankfully, everything has been working out in the favor of the actor and the viewers so far. The upcoming movie Deadpool 3 is set in the MCU’s Multiverse saga and is also Jackman’s first MCU movie.
