It’s the 2000s all over again. The fashion trends of the 2000s are back so why not “Bennifer”? Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck found their way back to each other in 2021. After calling it quits in 2004, they are finally in it for the long haul. The 2000s “it-couple” got married two times to make up for the time they were not together. Once in Las Vegas, which was a low-key event in July, and the other elaborate one in August of 2022.
Here is how their Vegas chapel wedding made Jennifer Lopez fall in love with her beau Ben Affleck even more.

It looked like it was impossible for them to get married, but thank god they got married a month prior in Vegas. The Vegas wedding helped them a lot to cope with the stressful three-day ceremony in Georgia. In a recent press junket promoting her new movie Shotgun Wedding, Jennifer Lopez gave total credit to her husband Ben Affleck for arranging the whole thing. The two eloped to Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they exchanged their vows. Lopez revealed how the stress of planning a wedding led them to elope in the first place.
“I think that’s why we ran off to Vegas and got married there first, took all the pressure off of the big family wedding that we were having.”
She then proceeded to gush over her husband’s amazing taste, which could be an indirect compliment to herself.
“He has an amazing eye. He has incredible taste,—But everything we do, we try and do it together.”
Planning a wedding is a very hard job. Jennifer Lopez shared some of the curveballs life threw at her while planning the wedding in her newsletter On The JLo. She first revealed,
“It had rained at sunset every day that week.”
This put everyone under even more stress.
“Everyone was worried about the heat, the aptly named ‘love bugs,’ the details, would the guests all arrive on time, etc.”
This neverending list of agony turned their lives miserable. Adding to the “rain” bit she further elaborated,
“Not to mention the thunder and lightning that arrived almost on cue each day at the exact time the ceremony was supposed to start that Saturday.”
Thus, it was a stressful yet beautiful week for them, all thanks to their impromptu Vegas wedding organized by Ben Affleck.
Inside Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Vegas Wedding
Jennifer Lopez finally became “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck” in a midnight Las Vegas ceremony. Vegas, as promised, kept its secrets until the pop star decided to reveal them in her newsletter.
“We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed),”
Bennifer then waited in line with four other couples for their marriage license. It was just like a fairy tale, according to the singee.
“Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,–“Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”
This wedding was twenty years in the making, so it had to be perfect. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are stronger than ever now. The couple and their kids will cherish this memory forever.
