“There’s a codependence in having a boyfriend”: Scarlett Johansson’s First Dating Experience Will Anger a Lot of Feminists
When it comes to Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson’s dating life, she has been in various relationships over the years since she started in the industry as a child actor. Due to her body maturing much earlier than usual for kids of her age, the actress reportedly got into the dating scenario much earlier.
Back in 2005, she opened up about the weird and messy relationships she had been in including her teenage flings. And some of them especially her first teenage relationship indeed sounds problematic which makes one feel glad she came out of them all fine.
Scarlett Johansson’s First Dating Experience Does Not Sound So Healthy
Joining the film industry at a young age and having a body close to a mature woman, Scarlett Johansson was undoubtedly objectified throughout her career. She may have tons of critically acclaimed films under her belt but there is questioning that her physical aspect has been the center of attention for the most part. Even in her dating life, Johansson started much earlier than most of the kids her age.
And the most shocking of all was her first dating experience which happened when she had only been 14 years old. At such a young age, the Avengers star fell in love and even had her whole future planned with him.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan back in 2005, when prompted about her first relationship Johansson opened up by saying,
“There’s a codependence in having
a boyfriend at 14.”
And according to her, the relationship had been “lovely” but the dependency on another human being is something that she does not want to feel ever again. Moreover, this was not the only relationship experience that did not prove to be as good.
The Black Widow star shared in the same interview that she had been in a relationship with a cocaine addict once. And just as any healthy individual, Johansson added that she never wishes to “get involved” with someone like that.
Who Is Scarlett Johansson’s Current Partner?
After getting out of three marriages, Scarlett Johansson confirmed her relationship with her current husband Colin Jost who is a writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) back in 2017. However, it turns out that they knew each other since 2006, when Johansson appeared on SNL and Jost had newly joined the crew as a writer.
But their romance bloomed after a whole decade and they quietly tied the knot in 2020. A year later the couple had their first baby named Cosmo (2).
