“They did not consult with me”: Elon Musk Deflects Responsibility, Claims Twitter Reinstated Kanye West Before He Took Control
The world’s richest man, Elon Musk has now owned another strong platform, Twitter after completing the $44 billion acquisition deal. His decision to take over the microblogging platform came after a long time of uncertainty about the deal however things got fishy the moment he took over Twitter.
The renowned personality after taking over the platform garnered headlines when American rapper Kanye West’s Twitter account appeared to be back on the platform. However, he has an answer to this!
Elon Musk Addressed Kanye West’s Twitter Account Being Back on The Service
The 51-year-old Tesla CEO, Elon Musk on Friday clarified that he had nothing to do with Kanye West’s account being back on the platform. It all began when the richest person in a tweet shared that the microblogging service will be forming “a content moderation council” to review the accounts of people who have been banned from the platform. Before their review, no account would be reinstated.

That is when a Twitter user asked him “So why did you restore already Kanye West’s account? Twitter should not be a platform to spew racism and antisemitism.” He answered by stating that his account was restored way before the acquisition by the company adding that he had no knowledge about it.

The acquisition deal had been a hot topic for several months however it was all sorted when Musk took over the platform.

The 45-year-old American rapper, Kanye West, who officially changed his name to Ye, has been in the public eye for quite a while. He was in the headlines for wearing a t-shirt that featured the slogan, White Lives Matter, in his surprise Yeezy Paris show. Things got messier when he made anti-semitic remarks on social media and in interviews.
In a now-deleted tweet, the rapper posted earlier this month, he wrote, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
He added, “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Due to his anti-semitic remarks, his tweet was deleted from the platform with a notice, “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.” Thereafter, the social media platform restricted his account. Though it has been reported that the account was never banned and would be visible on the platform meaning that the father of four cannot post or interact on the service.
