‘They would have crucified him’: Fans Unhappy With Taika Waititi Making Fun of Horrible Thor 4 Editing, Say MCU Stans Would Have Killed Zack Snyder For Same
Fans have been raving about Thor: Love and Thunder ever since its release last week. Taika Waititi returned to direct the Thor sequel after the success of Thor: Ragnarok. The director is well-loved by the fans, due to which his directing choices are often overlooked or justified by them. Recently, the director did an interview with Tessa Thompson for Vanity Fair, where the actress pointed out the director’s mistake in one of the scenes.

Tessa Thompson points out Taika Waititi’s editing mistakes
During the interview, Tessa Thompson pointed out an editing error to the director. In one of the scenes, Valkyrie flinches while Thor is talking to her, Jane and Korg. However, the scene doesn’t provide any explanation for her reaction. In the interview, Tessa Thompson revealed that Taika forgot to edit out her reaction. The actress played the scene and said,
“There’s one little funny thing that happens in this. See this shot where I go “uh,” It’s cause it used to be when he would wake up. That was my reaction, but you just left it there randomly, and I kind of don’t mind it.”
The director looked confused and replied by laughing and stating,
“I never noticed it. I am never looking at it.”
“It’s great,” Taika Waititi added.
Fans say Zack Snyder would have received hate if he had made the mistake instead of Taika Waititi
One of the MCU fans on Twitter pointed out that if Zack Snyder had said what Taika Watiti did, he would have been highly criticized.
Ok I gotta say this…and I'm not a Snyderverse fan at all but if Zack Snyder said half of the shit Taika has said in the last 3 days the verified accounts would be crucifying his ass. Y'all know I ain't lyin. https://t.co/yWm2SyyIMk

Zack Snyder is often criticized by Twitter users, especially the MCU fans, but when it comes to Taika Watiti, fans are willing to shower praises on him. Moreover, recently fans have also been asking Marvel to release the director’s cut. The demand is similar to the DCEU fans’ demand for the release of the Jack Snyder cut of Justice League. But Taika Waititi destroyed their hopes. In a recent interview with NME stated,
“They suck. Director’s cuts are not good, and directors need to be controlled sometimes.”
However, it seems like his statement is correct and that somebody should have controlled him when he made edits to Thor: Love and Thunder.
Moreover, Tessa Thompson also stated during the Vanity Fair interview that the unedited clip “is also an indication of how sometimes someone can make a performance look crazy when it wasn’t,” citing how the director’s choices can change the meaning of a scene.
Fans react to the Thor: Love and Thunder’s editing blunder
Many fans weren’t happy when the director revealed that he doesn’t read the comics before making the Marvel films. Now, the director’s recent response about the editing mistakes sent Twitter into a frenzy with fans having different opinions about the same.

In this video you can clearly conclude who is more passionate about filmmaking and who has more in depth knowledge of filmmaking.

Snyder doesn’t have the same reputation as Waititi. It’s pretty clear most of the shit he says he says just to get a reaction out of people and so far it’s working pretty well

I’m a big fan of Taika, but I do have to say Taika has been very self-indulgent over LOVE AND THUNDER. While I do think the movie and himself has been getting too much hate, I personally didn’t enjoy the film and even if I did, that’s not an excuse for his tonedeaf comments

It seems like the director should have been more careful while editing the film.
