As Johansson’s character in the main MCU is dead, there is a possibility for her to reprise the role as the multiverse still exists. The actress said that playing Black Widow has been an incredible and unique experience. While in Gwyneth Paltrow’s The Goop Podcast both Marvel stars humorously stated that they are indeed done with the franchise.

When Paltrow expressed that she would love to portray a much older Pepper Potts in the MCU as her husband Tony Stark has died, Scarlett Johansson teased her co-star and said:

“100% that’s happening. I can see it. They’re never gonna let you go. Break out that wig, baby.”

The Marriage Story actress suggested that even if Pepper Potts’s husband (Tony Stark) played by Robert Downey Jr. is dead, Marvel would milk her character Off by making more movies, spin-offs, or merchandise featuring Paltrow’s character even after the main Avengers series concluded. So, at some point when Marvel wishes to feature Pepper Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow might reprise her role.
