“This has got to be the whackiest hashtag ever”: James Gunn Finally Breaks Silence on Zack Snyder and Snyderverse Rumors

In the world of DC superheroes, some fans are devoted to the SnyderVerse and are highly hoping for Zack Snyder to helm future DC projects and witness his incredible work since James Gunn has stepped in.

James Gunn, who is the co-CEO of the DC studios, addressed the rumors surrounding Zack Snyder’s involvement in the DC universe. As fans were waiting for an official statement from Snyder about the SnyderVerse, Gunn had something to say about it.

James Gunn is no stranger to discussions about Zack Snyder‘s involvement in the DC universe and why not, he’s the Co-CEO after all, who never fails to make his way into the limelight. The Guardians of the Galaxy director opened up about his thoughts on the potential future of Zack Snyder’s SnyderVerse. Fans have been actively posting and lauding the SnyderVerse as fervent admirers of Snyder’s contribution to the superhero world after Gunn stepped in. Earlier this year, James Gunn responded to a Twitter user’s “Sell the SnyderVerse to Netflix” hashtag.

“I have to say, this has got to be the wackiest hashtag ever since 1) Netflix hasn’t expressed any such interest (although we’ve discussed other stuff) & 2) Zack hasn’t expressed any interest & seems to be happy doing what he’s doing (and, yes, we too have talked).”

The above was Gunn’s Tweet as a response to the user who was promoting the idea of selling SnyderVerse to Netflix since The Suicide Squad director has entered the DC universe and Snyder Cult is struggling to come to terms with Gunn’s participation. The director claimed that neither Netflix has shown interest in such an acquisition nor Zack Snyder seems to have a plan like this.

James Gunn Gave Clarification Of His Previous Comments

Soon after James Gunn claimed that Zack Snyder had no plans to continue his work in the DC saga, fans couldn’t hold back and as a response one of them shared a video where Snyder was discussing his continuing work in the DC universe. This video was shared by a Threads user Shay Lonsdale in which she highlighted that Snyder is indeed willing to to return to the DC saga, especially for the abandoned Justice League Sequel. As a response, James Gunn commented on the same post:

“I would think it was obvious that I meant Zack hadn’t expressed any interest to ME in our discussions, so you can quit spamming this on every single post!”

The Brightburn director explained that when he said Zack Snyder hadn’t expressed any interest, he meant that the Justice League director didn’t express interest in returning to the DC universe to James Gunn. The director clarified that Snyder did not directly express his interest to him during their interactions and discussions within the DC studios.

However, Zack Snyder is currently focusing on Netflix projects, especially expanding his sci-fi Rebel Moon and post-apocalyptic Army of the Dead universe. And there have been no recent statements provided by the director on his future work in the DC world.
