“This is me now”: Ben Affleck Takes A Dig At His Viral 2023 Grammys Meme With Hilarious Dunkin’ Donuts Super Bowl Ad

Former Batman Ben Affleck seems all ready to hack it as the next big pop star in the new Dunkin’ Donuts Super Bowl ad. After being a hilarious meme due to his grumpy face at the Grammys last year, Jennifer Lopez took matters into her own hands and cheekily made it clear to everyone that it was her husband’s “happy face.” The meme fest spread like wildfire, and fans started writing that Affleck would much rather be at a Dunkin’ Donuts. 

It seems like the donut chain seized the day faster than Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society and created a hilarious ad, taking a dig at his viral 2023 Grammy meme-worthy moment.

In the short commercial, he is seen watching a segment called “Bored Ben,” where the header reads,  “The Boredest Man in the World.” Ben Affleck growls and broodingly says, looking at the TV, 

“Keeeep laughing. ‘He’s bored.’ NO! He’s steady — always watching. I could do that. How hard can it be?”

One soon finds out that “it” means a career in music. Affleck is seen frantically calling someone and telling them that he had a dream and that he came up with an alter ego called B. Lo. 

 “I had this crazy dream — you’re gonna laugh. I had come up with, like, some beats, and you were like, ‘Maybe she’ll put that on the record.’ I even had a persona, like J. Lo, or like, B. Lo. That’s the bad version, obviously.”

Much to everyone’s heartbreak and surprise, he gets turned down by the person on the phone. Undeterred by that, Affleck shows up with a burned CD to a music producer to show him the beats and when he asks Affleck the big question, which is what was his medium, he confidently replies,  “Big-time music expert, you don’t know where music comes from?!”

Ben Affleck goes on dramatically in a recording studio. He asks important questions like, “Does music have to rhyme?” He also tries on some red-carpet looks and works with Charli D’Amelio, only to get stuck on minor things like “Who is TikTok?” He then proceeds to say, in a matter-of-fact manner,

 “They tell you you’re no good, you’re a goofy middle-aged white guy with no rhythm and you can’t sing on key. You’re not coordinated. That means I can’t be a pop star? Underestimate Boston … at your peril.”

Then he concludes his short speech, saying, “This is me now,” referencing JLo’s upcoming album. This Is Me…Now is Lopez’s deeply personal movie, which will be released alongside her ninth studio album of the same name. The album is also her first album in quite a while. The album is a big reference to Jennifer Lopez’s most trying time and her third deeply emotional studio album, This Is Me…Then. It is great to see the singer and the couple circle back to happiness after all these years.

The minute when Jennifer Lopez announced her album This Is Me…Now, fans started enthusiastically speculating whether Ben Affleck would make an appearance. Jennifer Lopez did not want to deprive the fans of all the details so she dropped a major hint that Affleck’s role would be hidden underneath the story as a metaphor. (via. Film Updates on X)

“It was a metaphor for having something in the back of your life all the time, in the back of your mind – this person, this voice, this thing, this feeling, this energy.
