Thor 4 Characters Will Be Appearing in GotG 3
Some Asgardian characters are set to make their debut in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder and will also return in the MCU’s ever-expanding timeline, as per Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt, who portrays Star-Lord/Peter Quill in the GOTG films, revealed in a recent interview during the recently held Love and Thunder premiere that in the trailers, the “space goats” seen are something that Taika Waititi added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this is something that even Guardians Vol. 3’s James Gunn had to incorporate, just for the sake of continuity.

“[Waititi] just wanted to stick James with some goats,” laughed Pratt. “James has to pick up where Taika left off, and he stuck us with some space goats.”

When questioned if it was actually normal for Marvel directors to troll one other by having some unusual elements in their canon movies for the next superhero team to deal with, Pratt revealed, “Typically no, but I guess Taika kind of plays by his own set of rules!”
What are these ‘Space Goats?’
The space goats in question are seen in the trailers while towing a Viking ship midway through the air and seem like a nod to the Norse mythology that was the initial inspiration behind Asgard in Marvel Comics and its Asgardian heroes. The myths have also referred to Thor being taken away by a chariot pulled by a couple of goats, named Tanngnjóstr and Tanngrisnir.
Thor: Love and Thunder take place after the events of Endgame, which saw Hemsworth’s Thor teaming with the Guardians, led by Pratt’s Star-Lord. The team will now play a vital part in the upcoming movie to later take the center stage for the third movie in the Guardians own trilogy, which will hit theaters sometime in 2023.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Will Arrive in 2023
Gunn is the director for all three of the Guardians movies and is also penning the third film, with consultation from Taika Waititi on the characters’ portrayal in Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit the theaters on July 8.
