Tom Cruise Lacks Talent For An Accurate British Accent

Tom Cruise may possess multiple incredible talents but putting on an accurate British accent is apparently not one of them. During an interview on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible co-star Simon Pegg revealed on Thursday that 60-year-old, Top Gun megastar’s Brit impersonation is so bad that he’ll probably ‘never’ play someone from the UK on screen.

Pegg talked about his stunt struggles saying, he couldn’t even drive a car up a hill whereas Tom Cruise is jumping off cliffs on bikes in reference to a challenging scene from Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. But then Pegg also revealed that there is one thing which he can do better than Hollywood hunk. Pegg added, “I’m better than him at accents, we mess around a lot on set and when you hear him try to do a British accent it’s hilarious… it’s somewhere between Dick Van [Dyke]…”

Simon Pegg admires Tom Cruise’s ability to ‘maintain authority’ by never apologizing for his mistakes.

In response to Simon Pegg’s claims, Tom Cruise genuinely admitted about his shortcoming and in a recent interview with Metro UK, the actor said agreeing to Pegg, “Yes I think he does.”

Cruise added “His Michael Caine is much better than mine!” referring to their attempts to mimic the iconic tones of the legendary star. Cruise was also grateful to Pegg for his help in grasping the accent. “He’s been teaching me it. It’s much better than mine.” It can be unanimously concluded that  the Shaun of the Dead actor is way better than Tom Cruise when it comes to British accent.
