It was quite an assurance for the actor to have a nomination, unfortunately, things didn’t go as he thought would have.

“He took a stand and no doubt it didn’t go over well with them,” the source shared.

Many believed that his nomination to the Golden Globe have something to do with his previous actions. He previously had returned his three Golden Globe trophies for Born on the Fourth of JulyJerry Maguire, and Magnolia.

To prove that Hollywood Foreign Press Association lacked diversity, he did so however those actions are what “a lot of people are convinced that’s the real reason he was snubbed.”

“It stinks that Brad, once again, seems to have milked his relationship with the foreign journalists at the Globes to get his own movie — which many consider way inferior to Top Gun — a ton of nods,” the source added.

Cruise is convinced that “this snub is” his old rival “Brad’s fault!” Their rivalry is going on since the late 90s when they starred together in Interview with the Vampire film and things are on cold since then.
