“Unfortunately, he got there”: After Fighting For Decades, Sylvester Stallone Finally Quits Against Arnold Schwarzenegger

The actors have been part of the industry for decades. Stallone is popular for creating and playing the remarkable characters of Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Schwarzenegger was regarded as Hollywood’s action movie star.
The rivalry between the actors is not news for fans. The two have been fighting for decades to be at the top of the industry. The Terminator actor and the Italian Stallion competed in the 80s to be top action stars. Despite being successful in the industry, Stallone was knocked out at the box office by the 75-year-old. Stallone has finally laid off his weapons as he no longer wants to compete with the FUBAR actor.
Sylvester Stallone ends his decade-old rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger has been part of the industry for four decades and has worked in the entertainment industry for 54 years. Over the years he has been named as the action star of Hollywood. But none of this was possible without his competitor Sylvester Stallone. The actors have been fighting to be at the top since the 80s. Stallone and the 75-year-old have produced many successful action films for four decades.
Schwarzenegger, in his documentary Arnold, shared details about his rivalry with the Rocky star. He said,
“I always need an enemy. Every time he came out with a movie, like ‘Rambo II,’ I had to figure out a way of now outdoing that.”
After the release of Stallone’s Rambo II, the Terminator actor came out with the action movie, Commando in 1985. People are aware of the Italian Stallion and Schwarzenegger rivalry. The actors were incredibly antagonistic as they couldn’t stand each other in one room. While both have climbed the ladder of success, Stallone stated he is done competing as the FUBAR actor. Despite his efforts and stiff competition, he was knocked out by the 75-year-old at the box office.
The Rambo star said,
“Arnold started to come on strong… we were great warriors that are traveling the same course. There was only room for one of us. He wanted to be number one. Unfortunately, he got there.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger in the documentary, admitted that due to his competition with Stallone, he became part of hit action movies. The actor said,
“Sly and I were at war… Without Stallone, I maybe wouldn’t have been as motivated during the ‘80s to do the kind of movies I did and work as hard as I did.”
The two stars have shared screens in movies like Escape Plan and The Expendables franchise.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is not part of Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables 4
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone first appeared in The Expendables (2010). The two despite their rivalry worked together for two more movies. The fourth installment in the franchise is set to release in September 2023. The first trailer for The Expendables 4, starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture, was released.
Fans were unable to spot Schwarzenegger in the trailer. The actor has appeared in the franchise in the past as Trent “Trench” Mauser, however, he confirmed that he will not be appearing in the latest installment. The 75-year-old might not be part of the film, the fans will see new faces like Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia.
The Expendables 4 arrives in theaters on September 22, 2023.
