Marvel Studios keen on having Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch a standalone movie?

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios are reportedly working on having Elizabeth Olsen’s character Scarlet Witch have her solo movie just like all the characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have. An X account (@HollywoodHandle) shared that Jac Schaeffer is being eyed to direct and write the movie for Scarlet Witch. The closest her character to having a solo project was with Disney+’s WandaVision, which gave the audience a deeper look into her character.

Scarlet Witch recently appeared in Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness and is considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Comics with a lot of her stories from the comic books left to be explored. The character is often seen as the villain because at times her powers have been misused but this does not nullify the fact that there is so much to be explored when it comes to her character.

During an interview with Times of London via THR, while promoting her Love & Death series, Elizabeth Olsen was asked about playing a Marvel character for a long time, to which she said,

“I really feel like I need to be building other parts back up for balance. I so much want to do films right now. I just need more, other characters in my life. There’s no longevity in one character.”

Back in 2022, the actress appeared on Good Morning America and was asked about Agatha: House of Harkness and Scarlet Witch’s standalone movie to which she said that she would love to be a part of both but she has no idea about anything as of now.

A fan noted, “Even though she already has a TV show, I think a solo film is well deserved for a proper sequel (Breaking Bad-style).” An ardent fan of the character Olsen wrote, “They know she’s their money maker, the MCU is dead without her.” Fans pointed out that they will be there for her no matter what.
