In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Dagobah Dispatch, Kennedy stated, “It’s Harrison’s last entry. That’s how we look at the Indy franchise.”
Kennedy further elaborated on the subject, mentioning the possibility of exploring the Indiana Jones universe through television series in the future. However, she made it clear that there are no plans to replace the character of Indiana Jones. She emphasized,
“This is it. It’s five movies that Harrison Ford did. And Harrison is so specific and so unique in creating this role. We just… Steven [Spielberg] agrees, we just wouldn’t do that.”
